Spring is officially here and this season always reminds us that it is a great time to be alive and I want you to stay that way!  Over the past year and a half I have read about different celebrities dieing of this terrible disease but it really didn’t hit me until a dear friend was diagnosed with colon cancer about this time last year.  Just watching from a distance this past year at what she has gone through got me thinking about how I have avoided that particular procedure thus far.

So after my latest physical, I decided to go ahead and get it done.  I had heard all the negative stuff about what you have to drink and all the hype and I have to tell you, the drinking part is easy as well as the not eating for a day. I’ll let you know how the actual test goes but everyone I have talked to has said that what I am doing today is the hard part.  Well, if what I’ve done today will keep me healthy and here so I can enjoy my wife, kids and grandkids; then bring it on!

I’m posting this because if you’ve been putting it off this procedure for the same reasons I have, it’s time to suck it up and get the colonoscopy done this year; the life it saves just may be your own!  Here’s what the Mayo Clinic has to say.
